November events
Here are a few pictures from our events in November. We had a hay ride, midday snacks,Thanksgiving Potluck, turkey bingo,we made centerpieces and crafts for Thanksgiving. We also had breakfast on the go, holiday baking, movie and pizza night for the year of the Airforce family, and we helped rake leaves for families of deployed spouses.
80's Party-August 28th
On August 28th we held our 2nd annual 80's party. We had a great time. We had games, trivia, food and Kellie made us a cake from scratch.There were all kinds of prizes. We also had a grand prize for best costumes and for the winner of the trivia questions.
Breakfast on the Go
We made pancakes on the corner and handed out to residents on their way to work.
Back To School Bingo-August 24th
We played bingo for back to school supplies and everyone that was school age was given a back pack.
Community Yard Sale-August 14th
We held a community yard sale on August 14th. Everyone that came either to sell or to buy had a great time.
Midday Snacks-August 12th
Milkshake mania was what we had for our midday snacks. We also showed a movie and made bird feeders out of pinecones with peanut butter and bird seed.
Canning Classes-August
Here are some pictures from our canning classes in August. We have a lot of fun doing this so come out and join us.
Walking Club-August
We have been walking on Wednesdays in August. We also have mommy and me time at the park after we are done walking. We serve snacks to everyone.
National Night Out
On August 3rd we celebrated National Night Out. We had a BBQ at the park on Colorado St with Secruity Forces and the Fire Department. Mcgruff and Eddie the Eagle were there to help us celebrate and to talk about everyone getting to know their neighbors.
Canning Class-July 28th
We made salsa, pasta sauce, and stewed tomatoes out of our canning class. Everyone that comes just loves this class.
Family Time-July 27th
This month for family time we had hot dog days. We served hot dogs, watermelon, chips and cherries.
Scrapbooking-July 22nd
We have everything that you need to do scrapbooking. Come on out and join us in the fun.
Breakfast on the go-July 22nd
We served pancakes at the entrance to Ft Wright. Brian was our chef. We handed out 100 breakfasts
Grand Opening of the Community Center
On July 16th we held our grand opening of the community center along our 2nd anniversary party. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony, gave tours, had a BBQ and gave away lots of door prizes
Walking Club
We walk on Mondays mornings from 9:00-10:00. We then go to the park and have mommy and me time. While we are at the park we play and have snacks.
Pool Party-July 10th
We had a pool party with BAl-4. Bal-4 handed out flyers with safety tips for summer and snack boxrs when they were done swimming.
Midday Snacks-July 8th
For our midday snacks for the month of july we made sundaes. The adults as well as the children had a great time.
4th of July Party
We held a party for the Fourth of July with cake, crafts and activities
Summer Carnival Potluck-June 26th
To celebrate the beginning of summer we held a pot luck at the park and had a carnival. The weather even worked with us and was nice.
Make-Up Madness-June 25th
We held our first makeup class and it was taught by Lindsey. She taught safety, coloring, how to apply the makeup, cleanser and moisturizer. After her class was over she gave anyone that wanted a make over.
Breakfast On The Go-June 25th
We held our first breakfast on the go at the new houses located at NCO Capehart.
Canning Class-June 23rd
We started our series of canning classes with freezer jam. We made strawberry and mixed fruit which consisted of blue berries, black berries, and raspberries. A great time was had by all and they voted to do two classes until we quit in October. Come out and join us.
Family Time-June 22nd
on June 22nd at our family time we had a going away party for Dana and her family. We served cake and ice cream, had activities for the children, presented her with a basket for the road and Lindsey gave her a make over. The whole family will be greatly missed.
Father's Day Breakfast- June 12th
We seved biscuits & gravy, eggs, sausage and fruit for our breakfast. We gave out over 20 door prizes.
Midday Snacks-June 10th
We had rootbeer floats for our snack. We did word puzzles and coloring pages. The adults even got into doing some coloring
Best Friends Day-June 8th
We decorated wooden jewelry boxes and put a friendship poem inside to give to our best friend.
Community Center

Board Game Night-June 4th
This was the first event that was held in the Community Center. We had a good turnout and as always everyone had fun.
Healthy Cooking Class May 26th
For our healthy cooking class we grilled salmon, steamed veggies, and made a great salad with everything healthy in it.
Family Time May 25th
We made bird houses out of wood. Tim (one of the maintenance tecks) cut all of the wood and put a diagram in the bags with all of the pieces.We used wood glue instead of nails. Everyone had a great time even the adults.
Swap meet
We held our first swap meet and had it inside due to weather. We had everything from food, misc items and clothes.
Bicycle Safety
Bicycle Butler came out and volunteered his time to teach a bicycle safety and maintenance class. Yard Master donated 30 helmets for the give away. This was a great safety and educational event.
Midday Snacks
On the second Thursday of every month we have snacks. This month we had healthy snacks (fruit and crackers). We also do some kind of craft or activity.
Self Defense
We held a self defense class on May 8th. Some of the families brought their children so they painted a frame for their mother for mother's day.
Cinco De Mayo
We celebrated cinco de mayo with good mexican and a pinata for the children. Every one went home with smiles on their faces.
Spouse Appreciation
On the first of May we had a big spouse appreciation. We teamed up with the airman and family readiness center and this year the air national guard came on board with us. Mary kay, self defense, manicures, parafin dip,paul mitchell school of beauty,current spa, a make-up artist and more came out and volunteered their time to pamper the spouses.We also served lunch, had door prizes and a chocolate bar.

Gardening with Phylliss Stephens
April 29th we had Phylliss Stephens come out and teach a gardening class.This is her third trip out her and everyone loves her classes. We did a plant give away after she was done. She also potted three pots with plants and we had drawings to give those away also.
Coloring Contest
On April 28th while the parents made a healty meal the children colored a Bal-4 coloring sheet. They all won prizes.
Scrapbooking
We held our monthly scrapbooking class on April 27th. Amy Hall teaches our classes and she even has projects for the children to do. Come out and join us.
Healthy Cooking Class
On April 28th we made home made salsa and chicken quesadilla's. A great time was had by all.
Community yard sale
We had our annual community yard sale with 7 residents participating. Everyone had and great time and did really good. it was a bit windy and one of our residents had a great time flying his kite.
Pictures with the bunny
On April 3rd at the Deel Center we had pictures with the Easter Bunnty along with several activities and a Easter egg hunt. We had a wonderful turnout and time.
Event Committee Meeting
Lindsey, Amy and Sarah not only attend almost all of the events, they help plan them. Come and join us. Your input and ideas are welcomed and encouraged.
Earth Day
On April 22nd we planted trees at warrior park for Arbor day. We also held activities at the Deel center for Earth day. They painted tshirts, had earth day tattoos, coloring and had lunch.
Go Green Bingo
April 23rd we had dinner and played bingo. There were prizes for adults and children. We played several games and ended with a blackout. Amy Hall was our blackout winner.
December events
Here are pictures from our events in December. We held Holiday baking classes,caroling,ornament making, gift wrapping for the residents,ballroom dancing with Dana,Santa's workshop,Holiday wheel of fortune,making gingerbread houses,decorating cookies, Kwanzaa and we also had a employee Holiday party.
January Events
Here are some pictures from craft event for making snow flakes, the snow flake ball, baking class, midday snacks, pamper party, cooking class, and family time. Midday snacks we made snowmen out of ice cream. Family time we played disney wheel of fortune.
February events
Here are some pictures from events held in February.We had a self defense clinic for women, valentines for vets,midday snacks, mardi gras, healthy cooking, family time, and how well do you know your spouse.
renovations
Fairchild is ahead of schedule on building 81 new homes and renovating 560.
